One of my students brought in a cell phone video of his friend who trapped a bobcat last week near where I live. Here in Pa, you have to have a permit to trap bobcats and this kid didn't have that permit so he had to release it. Well, these guys videotaped the release and its pretty amazing. All he had was a stick to pin the cat down and try to open the trap jaws. Gutsy move on his part cause I would have found a different way to get him out of there. Check the video out, its pretty amusing. They put the video on You Tube a few days ago.
What gets me is that I've been after a bobcat for the past few weeks, saw one during archery and tons of sign but he seems to have disappeared, and this guy lets one go.
He did the right though and I respect the heck out of him for the way he did it.
