Lanyard for my B/W ebony Buice
« on: December 30, 2012, 11:56:46 AM »
I have been looking for over a year for the perfect nylon to use as my drops on my lanyards. I finally found the material I was looking for about a week ago, but could only get it in white...so Ive been experimenting trying to dye it. I had one color come out a cross between and olive drab/ gold color. It matched pretty good with the white/greenish gold in my black and white ebony Buice, so i made it a lanyard. Black leather and the dyed nylon.

I could probably never replicate it again. Lets just say nylon doesnt take RIT dye like cotton. That was supposed to be straight black but it came out like that. I think there may have been some brown dye left stuck to the sides of the pot I was using.

I didnt add any salt, maybe thats why it didnt dye right. Oh well. it worked out fine for my lanyard.
