I do not understand folks who sell their guns in a buy back program for a sack of groceries or a $100 bill.   If you look close when they put these programs on the news, you can see officials cherry picking out the good stuff.  You can bet those ain't going into the crusher!

I know a guy that is the district DA for the county and the main attorney for a town in SC. They have a vault of confiscated guns that were tied into crimes, drug bust, etc. Lets just say those guns dont get destroyed and that guys sons have always had nice weapons to hunt with.

In my state, that is illegal in every way! Guns used in criminal activities have to be destroyed once the investigation is completed.

If you look super close at the guns in the photos, all I'm see'in is hunting rifles and single barrel iver johnson shotguns. I'm not sure that the officials are accomplishing anything worthwhile, so what if gramps shotgun is off the attic, the firing pin has probably been broken for 25 years and the duct tape and electrical tape holding the stock together and the barrel on has dry rotted and is now curling up. even pawn stores wouldnt buy these guns, so Im not sure what good comes of it, other than to put food on the table legally. and by the way gobbler commander, I'm sure you simply mis -worded your post and weren't sugesting that ANYONE uses a gun to obtain food illegally, perhaps an edit on your part would clear that up for the members and the guests that visit this forum and this thread, thanks, Lonnie

I heard an interview with a guy on the radio who drove from 40 miles outside of LA with some old rifles that did not even work because it was more money than he could have sold them for just for parts.
