I DO HAVE TO SAY THAT DOUGS ORIGINAL HOOTERS WERE AMONG THE BEST OWL CALLS MADE. I USE MINE STILL AFTER 16 YEARS OF SPIT, SWEAT, RAIN, SLEEPIN ON IT, UNAMEIT.

I bought a Southland back when the convention was in Charleston, SC, right after Hugo came through. His was PVC with 2 holes, for the 2 note laugh. The next year, I bought one just like the one shown in the original post. I plugged the bottom hole and drilled 2 in the barrel, of different sizes for different pitches. I then bought one of the short ones and drilled the extra hole. I still have one of the short ones, untouched. The short one with the two holes is the one I've been useing for the last 15 years or so. To me, JMO, they are the best owl hooters.
