I got this beautiful looking and sounding Hen Box from Richard (strutnrut) back in July, and just now getting around to posting my comments. I wish the delay could be attributed to hunting or fishing, but alas, no such luck, the daily grind was the culprit!
I asked for a mature, raspy hen sound, and Richard delivered! The fit & finish is excellent and she has a split personality! Depending upon the paddle angle, side of the call, and pressure, she can be a raspy old hen searching across the next ridge for an old gobbler, or be seductive hen, drawing him in for a face full of #5s! This call has turkey written all over it!
I worked with Richard to get the right sound, and we changed the lid numerous times, finally settling on Paduak.
This call will be in my vest come next spring!
