a new trumpet from Mr. Buice

Well...finally got around to calling Billy about a trumpet. Been wanting one for a while and I sure am glad I made the phone call to him. Even planned a trip to get some lessons from the master himself soon sense he doesnt live far from me !!!
Its a Ironwood trumpet with a set of #2,3 and 4 mouth pieces. It didnt take any time to have it running to my ear let me say. These things almost run theirselves. Top noth craftmanship too and from one heck of a fine gentleman. Thanks alot for the killer trumpet Billy !!!!

I have 2 #3's (1 round and 1 flat) & a #4. I didn't play the 2 when I was there. Figured it might be a little too high. It should make some super kee's.

Mark, the number two is higher pitched and kee kees well. the roll over on the yelp isnt as strong as a 3 or 4. I run a 3 most of the time, but like the 2 as well.

the guys answered youe question---have been rasther tied up with a wife with on going virtigo......
the #2 kees very easy and I like savduck---am liking the rollover on #'s 3 and 4 a little more. The # 2 helps this greenhorn on not pulling too much air though....I am learning still ----its a very easy trumpet to run though

Hey Jeff, hope your wife gets a handle on that vertigo.

I'm pretty partial to the 4 for yelping and the 3 for kee-ing. I can get good kee's out of the 4 but if I'm not careful, the whistle wants to break over. I have found that by playing it one handed and cutting off almost all of the air, I can achieve the desired whistle. The 3 whistles like a champ.
