Yanks vs. Rebs
« on: October 10, 2009, 03:15:45 AM »
Mike,
I've been pretty new to the call makers world, and everything that goes on in it from the secrets to the lies.LOL..
One thing that I've noticed, or caught my attention, or whatever you want to call it, is that there is a good bit of callmakers from the North(Yankees). I know there are some callmakers from the South(Rebels), but the majority of the guys I see and notice and even talk to, are from the North(Yankees)
I was wondeing if we could get a show of hands or a pole,so to speak, and see who wins; the North or the South.I think it'll be fun.

p.s.~  I noticed you even have a Hi-ya smiley face. What, no Hi-y'all smiley face? LOL

I think you need to expand your contacts w/ callmakers....LOL! There are a heck of a bunch of Southern boys making turkey calls on here! Maybe a trip ot the NWTF Nationals will give you some new insight!

West Augusta and I both live in WV which I have heard referred to as the southern most northern state and the northern most southern state. We both live below the Mason-Dixon line and my sentiments are with the south. It has nothing to do with call making but with politics. The southern people are much more friendlier and down to earth in my opinion. I am not saying there are not good people from the north because I have many friends who live there plus some family.

I'm not a callmaker, but I do live in the North (think way, way North).

It's always been my impression that there are more Southern callmakers, and also the highly sought after makers are from the South.  Just think- from the "Grandfathers" so to speak- Turpin, Whedon, Lynch and Cost- to comtemporary makers like Buice, Harwell, Mann, Sentell, L. Williams and Cox just to name a few.  All from the South, and all must have callmakers...
It's not the end of the world, but you can see it from there.

Both of my parents are from the south,,,,,,,Southern Kentucky. They moved to Ohio in search of the almighty dollar , back in the late '50s. I was born in Ohio not by choice you see .

I don 't care where you are from . People of upright character and HONESTY ,,,those are the folks I enjoy keeping company with.

As for ''REBELS'',,,,,I'm thinking that if this bonehead gov'ment doesn't start doing what we elected them for , instead of lining their own pockets and forcing us into socialism there will be a lot more ''REBELS'',,,and there won't be any Mason-Dixon line this time,,,,,It'll have to be a ''UNITED STATES'' REBELLION,,,,,,,,,UNITED STATES, doesn't that sound so much better than America ? Which when spoken by the politicians is nothing more than a mocking and a brainwashing for the feebleminded people who welcome anything that bunch of boldfaced liars say and do.
