A little CYPRESS

I had a friend of mine send me some cypress that was pulled from the Altamaha river swamp down in South Georgia. The log had been axe cut and the old fellow that owned the land figures it was somewhere around 100 years old and they said the log was so big that 3 or 4 men could wrap their arms around it. This stuff cuts like BUTTER. I put a Walnut top and bottom on them and man they sound good. I looking forward to making some more out of it. I havent been making many if any calls lately due to hauling a daughter all over for travel softball and in the summer it is almost impossible to get in my shop since I dont have A/C. Weather finally cooled down and this was my first project.

Thanks guys. I was told by a few people that cypress was hard to tune out. I would say hard but I had to put more than normal effort in to them. If anybody want one out of the cypress I have a few pieces left that I'm going to build some more out of. The rest will be put up for personal stock and for when I get the call from my buddy that he needs more calls. He usually gives them to business asscociates and the like
