Bank of America wants NO business from gun owners!
« on: September 05, 2012, 07:54:57 PM »
I was forwarded this very interesting email today.  I never have banked with them and now I will never consider them in the future either.

McMillian Mfg in Phoenix, Arizona, was contacted by Bank of America and informed that they will no longer be allowed to use their services ( Bank of America ) because they are in the firearms business and support the second amendment.

I am fine with you re-posting it.  Thank for your support.

McMillan Fiberglass Stocks, McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, McMillan Group International have been collectively banking with Bank of America for 12 years.  Today Mr. Ray Fox, Senior Vice President, Market Manager, Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking (Bank of America) came to my office.

He scheduled the meeting as an "account analysis" meeting in order to evaluate the two lines of credit we have with them.

He spent 5 minutes talking about how McMillan has changed in the last 5  years and have become more of a firearms manufacturer than a supplier of accessories.  At this point I interrupted him and asked "Can I possibly save
You some time so that you don't waste your breath?  What you are going to tell me is that because we are in the firearms manufacturing business you no longer want my business."

"That is correct", he says.  I replied "That is okay, we will move our accounts as soon as possible.  We can find a 2nd Amendment friendly bank that will be glad to have our business.  You won't mind if I tell the NRA, SCI and everyone one I know that BofA is not firearms-industry friendly?"

"You have to do what you must", he said.

"So you are telling me this is a politically motivated decision, is that right?"  Mr. Fox confirmed that it was.  At which point I told him that the meeting was over and there was nothing left for him to say.

I think it is important for all Americans who believe in and support our 2nd amendment "right to keep and bear arms" should know when a business does not  support these rights. What you do with that knowledge is up to you. When I don't agree with a business' political position, I cannot, in good
Conscience support them. We will soon no longer be accepting Bank of America credit cards as payment for our products,

Glad I don't bank with them anymore. Had an account with them years ago. If I still did I'd close it and move on!

the freedom of choice is what makes this country so great.
Sense Bank of America's has taken that position.....we a hunters and gun owners have the right to let them know how we feel.

I got that same e-mail a long time ago, and it made me wonder, why does B of A partner with the NWTF if they are so anti-gun? My NWTF credit card  is from B of A.
Somethin's fishy here.

I too had heard of B of A's opposition of the 2nd Amendment some time ago and have had nothing to do with them since.

As for the NWTF it really does not suprise me that they use Bank of America.  Perhaps all NWTF members should send them an email letting them know just how anti B of A is and how unappreciative it is that they use any of their services!
I know if you go to the facebook link in my 1st post and you will see many post on this topic and here is a post from Mr MCMillan himself.

Today was a big day. We actually started closing accounts at Bank of America. The photo shows the branch I always used to do my transactions. When I went in and asked who I needed to see to close my accounts I was pointed to a woman I had not yet met. While in her office she asked my why I was closing my accounts. When I told her "you don't want my business any more because I manufacture firearms" she says what do mean. I said "Mr Fox, a Senior Vice President of your company came to my office and told me BOA no longer wants my business because we make firearms." She said "making guns is legal" to which I replied, "I know that, but apparently Mr Fox doesn't." And that was the last of the conversation. She had not heard of McMillan or any of the goings on and as far as she knew

Big banks really stink anyway.  You are just a number to them. How about support a local bank that employs people you know and keeps your money closer to home.

Local banks can be just as bad.......particularly when they took bail out money! Fed auditors are puting them under great pressure to clean up their loans.
