Gaining Permission

A few years back there was an article in turkey and turkey hunting about writing letters to landowners and sending them before you go knocking on doors. Makes sense in today's world. I have looked for this issue but can't seem to find it.  Anyways I'm looking for the example that this issue had or any examples that someone might have on here.  I have a landowner in mind that I would like to seek permission from but the only way to get in touch with him is by mail.

I had something like that last season I was trying to get on this one farmers land and everytime I went there the place was dead. The farmer had another job he worked and his son ran the farmer. The only way I could get a hold of him is go there around 7 pm. I didnt want to do that since the guy work 12hr shift and that would be his dinner time. Well the season came so fast that I basically gave up on it and hunted my other three spots. I may try to get a hold of him since I saw 5 nice strutter this spring in his fields. I would say go ahead and write a note saying that I would like to hunt on your property and would like it if we can discusses it of lunch.  I would just leave him you contact info on it. Just my thought

I.troduce yourself in the letter, tell him you know he is busy, you would rather not walk up unannounced and pull him from his work and ask uf there is a goodtime to cime by and introduce yourself and talk about possibly hunting his land etc etc.

You might include a few references from other land owners that you have hunted on there land, this could help some.
