Guys if you have never tried this and are curious there are precautions that need to be taken. It's a rare thing for a turkey call, seldom being necessary. But it will give you a good wet weather wood pot with an aluminum or copper surface without the worry of damaging an expensive pot.

After much question and criticism I thought I should clarify. So some of you will know there is more to the process than just boiling wood. I add 1 Tablespoon of Carnubba and 1 Tablespoon of modified beeswax and enough "boiled" linseed oil to cover the wood and bring to a slow boil . Boil between 30 minutes to an hour. Then after drying 5 days (completely dry by the way) I sand with 800 grit and then add 2 coats of Tung Oil and when dry buff to a DRY hard durable finish. NOT a Bad Idea. Any questions please call.
