Do you think that where you live is the only place in the country that has snakes. I live in NC, and we have Cotton mouth mocassins that would eat those ratllers for breakfast. A cotton mouth as long as the snakes you pictured, would be bigger around than your arm. And, a head twice as big.  We don't need your snakes, we have plenty. I agree about killing them, especially if they're around where people live or places people frequent alot for recreation.

5 foot cottonmouths?  :D

I kill em all year long, probably killed more than most will ever see, I've never laid eyes on one that was 4 feet.  I'm talking catfish pond/beaver dam/ slough off a river, nasty cottonmouths...

Not trying to be ugly, just a disagreement, but if you're killing cottonmouths bigger than this, please post pics! I figure we fall 3rd behind LA and FL as homes to cottonmouths, WE GOT EM!

Here's a 3.5 footer!

I'd ask that all of the herpetologist, hippies, fun-sucking, Obama-lovin, good people on this forum not lose sleep over me killing them.  Any legitimate arguments about their value to the ecosystem will fall on deaf ears.  I'll kill em all until I run out of ammo. [shootin]

I've seen it so many times! I shot one in a dam the other day and look and here comes #2 right towards me where I hadn't seen him before.  Needless to say, he's at the big beaver pond in the sky with his partner!

I agree with the thread title always look out and about while your in God's creation.  But I wouldn't go trapsing around in the swamps and woodlands if I was skeered of stuff either.

I hunt Mississippi each spring and you will never catch me without these on my feet. I have been on top a couple cottonmouths as big around as my arm and they made a believer out of me real quick.
