I am a greenie....

Looking into a website, but my head is swirling from info overload...what web engines do you guys use/recommend?

Any costs associatied??

Is it your domain name?

I used hostmonster to get my domain it was around $5 a month paid by the year with multiple years dropping the price. Then I use wordpress to write my site. It is a fairly powerful program and has lots of options.

I use Homestead, no problems after several years. As far as cost depends on a lot of things, basic site will cost you $10.00 to $20.00 per month for a website, you may find something cheeper not sure. Store fronts are more if you want to sell things. Some  sites charge you for help building your site, so if you can't put it together yourself be sure you know what you want in your site  before you start. I am luckey my better half is good at that stuff. There are alot of web engines out there, I just picked one I thought I could use. I am by no means a pro at this stuff, but I manage with Homestead. Talk to others, pic one and dive in, thats how you will learn.
