Well Princess and I went out this morning and where walking down an old logging road. We hadn't seen any birds so we sat down to take a break. Princess started acting a little funny so I though she may be hearing some birds that I could'nt. I was just about ready to unleash her when a BIG sow and three cubs appeared about 50 yards away!!! The sow must have caught our wind and did a charge right at us!!! I stood up and yelled and Princess started barking and luckly the sow stoped about 20 yards in front of us and started snapping her jaws!! To say I had the
scared out of me would be an understatement!!! The 3 cubs ran up a tree as soon as the sow started her charge. She slowly back up to the tree to protect her cubs, but the whole time she keep on poping her jaw and teeth. I was trying to calm Princess down but I think her only thought was to protect me!!! She was going nuts!!! I started backing up slowly and as soon as we were out of the sow's sight i BEE-LINED it out of there all the while checking my back to make sure the bear wasn't coming!! Let me tell you it was the longest 1/4 mile walk back to the car!!!
The morning was still early and I wanted to hunt some more but I needed a change of shorts so we called it a morning!!!
Counting the 4 bears I saw this morning I have seen a total of 8 bears this week taking the wife back and forth to work!!!
