ShadeTree Callers Turpin call
« on: July 22, 2012, 06:01:35 PM »
I had a request recently for A Turpin style boxcall . The new owner hunted for many years with a Roger Latham call before losing track of it some years ago . I built this one to the same dimensions as the calls produced after Latham purchased the Turpin Turkey Call co. This one is made from some beautiful wormy maple that I got from my moonshiner friend in NY state and just a sliver of cherry on the base for color . He usually stokes the fire with this wood but will occasionally find a good looking piece and send it my way . The Lid is made from yellowheart from Brazil . It has that classic Turpin bark and will hopefully lead some turkeys to a dirt nap . Thanks for looking !
Bob

A fine job with the wood Bob *up*, glad you didn't make a batch of tooth picks like that last chunk of curly maple I gave you *cry*
