Minnesota fishing?
« on: June 11, 2012, 06:11:21 PM »
Have been looking into taking the family up for a few days of fishing and to just get away.  Have any of you all been up that way for some walleye fishing and willing to share your findings?  Looked into Canada but the wife is not much for catch and release, she wants to bring home more than two fish.
Thanks guys,
Kenny

The fishing here has been good. Been out fishing a lot on the local lakes and the bite is pretty steady.

Haven't made it up to any of the big three but reports from friends sound like I may have to run to Mille Lacs. One of the guys caught 24 in an hour with 10 being in the slot, and 2 over fish. If you haven't fished here before the slot limit is a set limit on size for keeping fish, you can keep fish up to 17" and over 28" but none in the "slot". (Not all lakes have a slot limit.)

It also sounds like Leech and Winnie are both picking up so depending when you come they might be worth while.

Making Kids wait till they are twelve to hunt does not promote our sport, it dooms it.
