 I enjoyed the story.  Will likely buy the dvd in July. Love the History channel. My wife even watched it and of course shed a few tears.  Old Anse was hard on the turkey.  *up*

The Hatfields and McCoys, Blair Mountain, Matewan. Tons of West Virginia history In the southern mountains.

The show was well done and I thought that the actors did a great job portraying their respected charcter.The best one for me was Tom Beringer(sp?) playing Jim Vance I never rellized it was him until after the 2nd episode

I found it interesting  wonder how much of the story is true facts years have gone by a lot has changed threats/clothes shelter guns ..i see in all the years its still alcohol money and you guess the last one

I watched it on my DVR so I could fast ward past all the commericals. I really like the movie. I am going to watch a few more times. The best way to really enjoy a movie lke that is to study the people in the movie before you watch it. From my research of Hatfields and McCoy's they cover most all the things that keep the feud going. But all in all I thing that Kevin Costner (William Anderson "Devil Anse" Hatfield), Bill Patton (Randolph "Ole Ran'l" McCoy.McCoy) both played there parts really well. Plus Tom Berenger did a great job playing the role of Jim Vance. I would also like to mention that Matt Bar did well playing the part of Johnse Hatfield the son of William Anderson "Devil Anse" Hatfield.

This was tough country back then, not to different than many frontier areas, so folks applied the law as they saw fit. I'll bet Witter was all tore up with all them BIG JUGS of popcorn being shown.   That is so cool firedup. My friend and neighbor is the great grandson of Ellison. He hasn't gotten to see the show yet, he works nights, but I can't wait to hear his take on it. We have been talking about coming down to one of the reunions sometime, probably not this year but maybe next. If we can work it out I'll keep in touch and maybe we could meet . You wouldn't believe, well , I guess maybe you would, some of the stories he tells of growing up in Mingo.  *wha* *wha*

The show was awesome..Costner did an excellent job as well as Tom Berenger...If you want to read the history of the Hatfields and McCoys look at West Va. and Kentucky archives...I love history especially Civil War era and find it intriguing...

I was the same way.  I was reading Tom was in it and I was look... who the heck was he... then I realized who it was...

I got to watch the Hatfield and McCoy History channel regular show last night too.  They had a ton of opinions and they are not even sure that Anse and Randolph worked together in the Civil War.  Did not mention Anse deserting either.  Also said Anse killed Harmon McCoy not Vance, but I think there are a lot of he said she said that goes along with this fued!
