Well---the bragging dad here in full admonishment......

I am so blessed with the three daughters I have, first of all HEALTHY and great gals....they are very athletic and good students.
Hannah, my oldest is the one on my brochure with her first bird. I have never pushed them to go, but this year the two little gals(LeighAnne and Allie) asked me to go hunting ---they wanted to try it. I was ELATED to say the least. I get nervious when they are going with me. I never get that way when I am going for myself.
LeighAnne got her bird---she was determined and made time. Allie never cancelled her SOCIAL and practice times to make it happen. She told me last weekend that she wanted to go saturday. Boy was I excited at the chance. Spent all week watching birds to make it all it could be. Well, Thursday night, got a dreaded call from my buddy that he had his daughter and she wanted to hunt the place....all my scouting 2 longbeards would be not to Allies aid. I was in SCRAMBLE mode and had to line up something for a first timer in one day ......the heat was on. I so wanted Allie to experience the THRILL of this sport and not the agony.
Went into a brand new place and had founf 1 gobbler and 2 jakes there.....we snuck in , got in the blind and he started gobbling well before normal time. I was happy she was all smiles hearing that much. Well, he hit the ground and I could tell it was time to get her ready as he was closing up the hill.....THEN I realized on the hike in with a cooler, the blind, 2 chairs ---that the recoil pad on ther 20 ga was gone

....I decided what she wouldnt notice ---she didnt need to know, kinda like the Nitros and the Rhino choke I slipped in on her also.
The bird showed, stood his ground and gobbled looking in our direction, and he just eased back down the hill for no know reason....I sank !!! We gave him a few minutes as he continued gobbling and tried him again....here he came. Ya should have seen her---the breathing was strained to say the least...hahaha. She felt that feeling we all get---her stomach was in her throat---she said---daddy, I am so nervious----I calmed her down until it was time ...she made a great shot on the actor---bet she heard 75-100 gobbles out of the actor=----what a first bird for her and a great introduction to this great sport we all love.
I am a blessed man
Allie and her first gobbler---take note of "THE BOOTS"
