WildTalker Trumpet and CD Up Date
« on: April 18, 2012, 11:59:01 PM »
I have been holding off on the final production edit and mastering due to waiting on parts for the Alpha Trumpet. I did this in hopes giving me time so I could ship CD's with the callers.

Now recording is really not hard if you have your settings right on the recorder and can avoid planes, trains, automobiles and those pesky song birds too close to the microphones or just too many talking. I have 100's of hours of recordings that I just can't use. But the hardest part is the post production to create a master recording. Something that takes professional training which I don't have. I used to take my recordings to a Studio to do the mastering. I am now doing it myself and have gone deaf tweaking audio and Over tweaking it.

With that said ...... I have it finished partly due to some valuable help I got over the phone.

There are 18 tracks.

Track one is the original Spittin Feathers 1  ( 25 min ) set to a new intro with music ( cut the plane out and other receptive  stuff out ) that I have no idea how many copies I have sold since 1995. With out question it's a once in a lifetime recording. With the wonders of world class software it is now remastered in HD! Truly a remarkable soundstage in 3D crystal clear. You will not only hear new things but picking out exactly "what" turkey" is talking and in what relation to the my position. All I can say is....... there is nothing like it on the market today. Turkeys in 3D HD! I have raised the bar again ;)

While recording by chance...... there was a Natural Flush. Have no idea what busted up the Turkeys. They flew right to me and landed in the trees 30 yards away. What you here is what that "talk" while still in the trees before they fly down. ( very interesting ) That is followed up by an assembly call and a long passage of the Kee Kee Runs of several turkeys. Then a track I named  Kee Yelping. It's a young hen in the winter that found her self seperated  and is calling or yelping in a Kee note. I know...... she was 40 yards from me and I saw and heard what happened.

There are some tracks while the turkeys are on the roost and flying down. Very good to listen to some of that soft calling. I know everyone will appreciate my effort to have turkeys land on your in your lap or blow your hair back.  ;D Other tracks are just a variety of turkey sounds and yelping. A library of sounds not found in one product.

One track is named Drumming. This is not only interesting of the basic 2 turkeys calling but all the time there is a gobbler sitting on the mic drumming. It's a must have for those who need to really cue into drumming. That I did enhance to be sure everyone could hear it.

There are Jake gobbles and yelping and of course the only Old Gobbler yelping is on the original recording. I have a track of Hawks that is just pristine and lucky to have recorded for your pleasure.

One of the featured tracks is that of the Barred Owls.......... anyone calling in a contest...... here is your teacher...LOL! I also threw in a Crow and Pilated Woodpecker for the Shock gobbling that happens.

With that said........ it will be 2 weeks and for sale. NOTE: I went to extra trouble to make sure the CD is perfect for you iPod,iPad or iPhone. Get a good set of earbuds and it will sound like a 10,000.00 stereo system.  *up*

For the Bad News......... my Vendor totally screwed up my order! I am LIVID! Not only is it a month LATE....... but no parts that I can make calls from. At this time I will not pre-announce any dates. I will have callers in hand this time before I post.

Of course I do have the new Killer wood Slate............. and 4 new WildTalker box callers.

My vendor sent me parts and every one was wrong in some way. ( not the sound..... it was right.... the outside ) The Acrylic was terrible. They did not use a solid color. I have sent a color Green that is solid and I suggested if they don't want to run acrylic again....... then I will just make callers from ALL Nylatron and I will do a hand polished. I know they look good! ( fyi.... the LE had black mouthpieces...... so it should not affect the LE's )

Here is an old prototype..... with a Titanium ferrule. The New ones will have stainless.

A sneak peek at the CD artwork and new logo for Spittin Feathers. The new CD's will have a round soft plastic case..... those square..... breakable ones I hate.
I think? hopping they will be in this week. I'll let everyone know who has shown interest.
