Vest Recommendations

Hey guys, looking for vest recommedations.  I noticed yesterday mine is ripped.  I have looked at cabela's and about all they carry on the website is the Tactical Tat'r vests.  I had one of these a few years ago and hated it.  Unless they have changed just about everything about them, they are out.  I also looke at the Buclick Creek vest at Bass Pro, but have learned Bas Pro bought out Bucklick Creek and their quality is horrible.  I like the Bone collector Turkeu Tuxedo, but have a hard time paying $150 for a vest that doesn't have at least one box call pocket.  I'm kind of curious about the Gorilla Gear Gobbler Pack, but nobody around me carries it.  Have any of you seen it in person?  Input on this vest is appreciated.  Have also looked at the Ol' Tom vest.  If you have any suggestions, please help!!!

Hard to go wrong with a Mossy Oak Super Elite.  Looks like Mack's has them on sale too.

I used a super elite 2 for years until it was ragged. Bought the tactical tat'r 2 from Cabelas last year and love it. Not sure though how it compares to the original tat'r.

I am on my third Super Elite and really like it. Plenty of pockets and a comfortable cushion. I have the Mossy Oak Obsession pattern.

Look at Ol Tom...the one I have has 2 boxcall pockets!!

Thanks for the input guys. I have looked at the Mossy Oak vests. Like the pockets and features. I don't like the full vest style though. To me it makes it too hot. I like the strap styles better. I do like the Ol' Tom time & motion vest the best out of the ones I have looked at in person. Just want to see what else might be out there I am missing before o go drop $140 on the Ol' Tom vest.

I have been using ol tom strap vest has 2 pockets for short box, 2 lanyards for locator calls, many places for pot calls, and even more for mouth calls. Only thing it could use would be a water bottle holder, other than that very lite and comfortable.

Ol Tom's or Cabela's Tactical Tatr are my two favorite ones.  I went to the vest one with ole tom and glad I did.  I was worried about the same... too hot but no issue so far!!!

I got one of the turkey tuxedo's and it pretty nice other than not having a place for a box call.  You can buy one on ebay for 50.00 brand new.

I've got an ol Tom, super elie III, a bps vest and one other strap vest that I can't remember who made it.

Ive been using the ol Tom the last 2 years, as it's a little more lightweight and has plenty of room for what I take with me.  That being said, the super elite III is a fine vest, just a little warmer than what I was looking for.

I have a tote full of vests that I bought that didnt fit the bill. I finally settled on a hunters specialies suv, check them out, They have everything you could need , and they are a strap style. I have an ol tom in that tote....not enough overall room IMO , and the butt pad magnet wouldn't hold a picture on the fridge. I was having to re"snap" it after every branch I brushed up against.

I only 2-3 pots and strikers, mouth calls and a trumpet, so room isn't an issue for me.

Good vest is hard to find...I've had a vest that I bought from Cabelas years ago that has a small innertube enclosed in a duck type material that couldn't be more comfortable. It has plenty of pockets and an ample game bag...Great vest but, as far as I know, nobody makes it any more...

This vest will last anyone a life time Very Very tuff it is hand made by Carlton Savoy from La.   I know people that have Carltons vest that are over 15 years old and still going strong and not wore out.  He makes each one to fit you. My vest was a little over a 100 bucks but I'm no little man    had him make me one in orange to.
