Red Dot problem...need advise
« on: March 23, 2012, 05:42:37 PM »
Picked up a new red dot. I have never used anything but a bead on a shotgun. Got out in the woods today and it was raining. Kept the cap on the lens until I got set up. When I turned it on since there was rain I had a blurry dot. I cleaned the lens but the dot was still blurry. Noticed water in behind the glass/plastic where the red dot originates from. So it was pretty much useless.

Have you guys had this issue? Is it this sight that I bought or is it just a problem with using this type sight? What can I do other than not hunt in rain? I copied a link below to the sight I have.

Sometimes you get a bad product. Send it back, I'm sure they will replace it.

I agree with Bill. It does suck but it happens. I've used a TruGlo red dot for about 5 years now and love it. Send it back they will take care of it.

Thanks for the replys. I think I'll return and go with a regular bead. I have shot my whole life that way w/o a problem. I don't think I can/want to get use to shooting the sight that sits that high anyway.
