Box Call Lids and Blades

I'm in the porcess of making a couple of box calls and was wondering if anyone on here has ever used Makore or Canarywood for either the Box call blades or the Lids??  If you have how have your calls ended up sounding once you got them tuned??  Any input would be appreciated!!

canarywood is great for lids ! Sounds really good and has alot of "bite"

I like Canary wood alot it makes a nice lid!
