areal of storm damage here in Ooltewah
« on: March 07, 2012, 09:20:20 AM »
got this this morning---everyone has been through close calls , but when it gets this close...ya really can't imagine the chaos it causes. Still hauling ,cutting and helping friends. Its going to be a long time until things are remotlly close to the same around here. Again, my home somehow was sparred, but I heard last night, (finally have tv restored at home), that almost 500 houses in my area were effected in some way---that over 100 were totally destroyed. This is Ooltewah now .........

That is terrible . It's hard to watch that and know how many people have been affected by the storms . It will take many years before those trees grow back so the landscape will never be thesame as it was before the damage . I am happy that you and your family escaped the damage but I know you are still affected by it in many ways !

Until you see the damage in person pictures just do not have the same effect on ones stomach.  I feel for you guys Jeff and glad that you made it through with no damage as an F3 is bad news.  Harrisburg, IL just a couple hrs south of me was hit with an F4 just last week, tornados numbers are increasing more and more every year I hope everyone in your  community is safe and wish them all a speedy and safe clean-up..

You said it was destroyed. You weren't kidding.  Somebody was looking over you and yours.
Glad that your family is ok.
