This story starts way back last summer while I was taking a load of cattle to Tupelo. Stover Perryman contacted me wanting a black poplar Mississippi Scratch Box for himself and his dad. Well, you all know how hard it is to find black poplar. Stover and I finally struck a deal. He would send me enough black poplar to build about 4 calls and I would build the two calls in return. Fast forward to the NWTF convention in Nashville: Stover brought a fine box of black and purple poplar with my name on it! Then, when Billy came by the booth, he had another son, Calvin, with him! Billy liked the inlays I use on my Turkey Track Series calls and I told him I would put those on his and Stover's scratch boxes. When I started making those calls, I just couldn't leave Calvin out, so I fancied up a purple one for him! They are heading out for Wilcox County, AL, asap! Thanks for the wood, Stover!
