It's Daytona 500...
« on: February 26, 2012, 07:14:06 AM »
time today!!!

I've watched the truck and nationwide races and I think the 500 will be even better..

The Nationwide race was wild!  Both the truck and Nationwide had a surprise winner.  I don't think the 500 will, but who knows... after last year anything is possible.

Get to watch it with my dad and I cannot wait!

There is no sense in trying to be in the top 30 until 10-15 laps remain.  I'd just sit back and be spectator for most of the race and then get serious.  Danica's bound to cause at least 2 wrecks on her own.  The fact that she has a ride is evidence of where this sport is headed...which is in the crapper.  Marketing is winning out over talent.

I don't think, this sport has been the same since Dale was killed.......JMHO

I know, I've lost interest in NASCAR....Don't even bother to watch it anymore.....Somethings missing in it for me.....

I havent watched Nascar since the Intimidator left us . It's not what it used to be . Too much restriction and too much money have clouded the sport .

Hey now take it easy on ole Danica...  She's been wrecked twice this week and neither one her fault... but I'm afraid you might be right on this one.  I think she'll be over aggressive.   Marketing is definitely winning out over talent now too.  Seems like more drivers have their sponsorship and controls the hands of the teams.

I don't think anyone has shown how like the two car tandems can hook up yet on the Sprint Cup side...  They think maybe a lap... but I bet they can push that envelope.  I do look for multiple big ones today!

Hopefully it will be a good day for the Fords.  On my way to go watch the race now!

When we lost Dale, the sport didn't really have a great rivalry anymore, which is important.

Sucks that the biggest race of the year is gonna be run at noon on Monday, when most folks can't watch it.  I'd like to see them do the trucks on Thursday night, nationwide Friday night and cup on Saturday night.

Yes to that...  I was just thinking the same thing... biggest race of the season and I'll be at work  >!! >!! >!!

Sad part is, no way of not knowing who wins... Once I know and read that, I have no desire to watch the full race... Darn technology...  Plus my friend from down in that area said it's like an 80% chance of rain all day.  He doesn't think they'll get it in tomorrow!

Looks like unless they choose to run under the lights, which may be the better option for TV ratings, they are not gonna get the race in today..

Guess instead of watching Danica race, I will just watch Go Daddy commercials online

Still raining in daytona.  Hopefully they won't get the track dry until late this afternoon.
