Craigs list for wood?
« on: February 23, 2012, 10:31:15 PM »
Not able to get on and post here as much I would like to but thought this was interesting.
Been wanting to find some good aromatic red cedar and not having alot of success so I decided just to see what might be on Craigs list.  To my surprise there were several listings of old barn and log cabin wood that is 100+ years old.  Going to check into a couple of the listings this weekend and see what types of wood they have.  Hoping to get lucky and find some chestnut.  Got a couple of pieces out of a reclaimed house a few years back and loved the calls it made for me.

Good luck. I have a supervisor at work who got a ton of reclaimed wood from a barn and he needs some help identifying it. He doesnt think its oak, so he is leaning towards chestnut. If that is the case, he is going to give me some

Craigslist is a great place for wood... I've found everything from pupleheart to yes Chestnut at some great prices.... A lot of times the people just want the wood out of there way, so there good deals out there to be had!!
