WildTalker Trumpet Up Date please read....
« on: February 22, 2012, 02:59:15 PM »
To start off simple, since the first run done in 05/06 the price of the parts have doubled. I refuse to go the China way because I think we need our callers made here in the USA.

How I come up with my retail price. I get the caller made the Best I can and Then factor in my profit margin to know the Retail price. Every manufacturer does it. Basically I will NOT cut corners! The retail price IS what it is, based om my cost, so I can provide the same caller to the customer that I... me... use!

With that said, here is what changes are being made because I have all my price quotes in. The Black Delrin caller I have been selling for 60.00 ( with the pat pending brass ) will be 85.00. I have around (original) 50 parts to make callers and then I will phase out the all Delrin WT with brass. I have ordered New Ferrules with the patent number. As it worked out I only have to order a new Center section to have the Final "Tweak" in sound and New ferrule.

The next WildTalker Trumpets will be made out of Green Acrylic with the Black mouthpiece and New ferrule. Due to the parts price I decided to make what could be considered a little better looking caller. Why? because the price will be 120.00. Plus the acrylic cost more and I think it's worth it since I have to break the 100.00 mark.

I wanted to keep the price down. But it has 3 CNC machined parts that just take a LOT of steps or machine time. That wingbone mouthpiece cost the most. It has to be turned around twice in order to make it.

I assume if things go right I will have the New Green Acrylic caller in about 4 weeks. I hate the price jump but with the New ferrules and New SOUND it want turn people away. As soon as they come in I will post Pics!

I will have the WildTalker Killer Slate calls in next week. So for the time being please wait till I get the Trumpets done before ordering.

Here is the approved logo work on the "Killer" slate call. Simple but it works :)

FYI...... I started marking the callers I built in 1991 with "Killer" on them. I hope I am not stepping on anyone's toe's. If so let me know.

Hey Mike,  very nice to see you around again buddy.  Often thought about you and how you were.

I am anxious to see and here about your new calls you have been working on.  With out giving away any maker's secrets(meaning yours), what you can tell us about the new pot call as far as, what seperates it from others you have designed?  What makes it say..."special" in the sound/playability department?  Thanks---jason

Jason,

There is no Special secrets that I know of, only the improved Turkey and playability of my new callers. After doing callers since 1988 I have just come to making calls so people can kill turkeys. Not really trying to invent the wheel anymore... *lol*  What is different about the Slate Wood Pot is it has a Live Bottom and goes through several turning and other steps ( which is labor intensive ) ...... but that does not really mean anything other than it's the way they had to be made to get the Sound I wanted.

I no longer make callers for other companies. Every caller I make now is for my WildTalker Game Calls business. I am not trying to compete with the other companies either. If my callers cost more than others, it's only because it cost me more to make them "Right". As time goes on I will add new callers to meet the Standard of the WildTalker Brand.

As you know with some.... it's a crap shoot of what comes in the mail or out of the package. This day and time people want real quality Sound and build they can depend on.
