Jim Casada and the ShadeTree
« on: February 21, 2012, 11:13:26 AM »
Here is a picture of me with my friend Jim Casada . Jim is arguably one of the finest hunting authors of our time . He stopped by the booth to take photos and interview me about Dick Kirby . Hopefully my little story will make it in his upcoming book about the legends of turkey hunting ! Jim has offered his help in editing and getting my book to the printers . His help should speed things up a bit for me . Jim asked me to build him a call from wormy butternut because it reminds him of a time in his youth when there were lots of butternut in his native Smoky Mtns. I hope to see his call with a little blood on it this spring ! Thanks for the look .

Bill , I thinks he is me long lost brother , separated at birth . I was sold to the farmers daughter and a WV Mountain Man and Jim was raised by a self-sufficient Smoky Mtn family!
Jim is a fantastic author and partly to blame for my love of the long callers ! For it was he who made me want a Neil Cost boat paddle so badly . And it was Jim who sent me my first Neil Cost book from which I learned to make my first longbox caller . Oh the sickness he helped fodder ! *lol*
