Here are a couple of the scratchboxes I have been working on since the Nationals have been over . Basically I turned my call sideways and added a base to it . It has all the sounds I try to achieve in my calls, including yelps, purrs cutting and some nice deep clucks too . The new design has more tone to it and I think it sounds even better than the old design . I thought I would burn a few dogwoods on them to decorate them a little . The body of the call is made from a solid piece of cherry from Dick Kirby's shop and the soundboard is cedar from an ancient fencepost pulled by Swiney Rayfield near Eminence , Missouri .
