After I got my first trumpet from Kenny at KP Calls, I knew I had to get another one. Then, he showed me this SPECTACULAR piece of cocobolo that he had and it was all over. Since I like his work so well, and this wood was so special, I thought I'd have him build my first trumpet with an ivory mouthpiece. This wood deserves ivory!
Just like the first KP trumpet I got, this trumpet is VERY user friendly and sounds fantastic. I don't see how a trumpet call could get any better.
Anyway, it is, as stated, cocobolo with an ivory mouthpiece and a turned ivory bead. The ferrule is patinaed and stippled brass and the lipstop is turned cocobolo. Kenny also sent a turned ivory lipstop, but I think the wood lipstop looks better on the call.
Kenny outdid himself with this one and, again, I could not be more pleased! This thing is beautiful and I doubt my pictures will do it justice.
As pretty as it is, I'm still gonna hunt with it...on pretty days!
Thanks Kenny!!
Mike
