Collections of The Gumbo Ranch
« on: September 17, 2009, 03:08:46 PM »
Hello! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Preston Lawson and I live in San Antonio, TX. I have been an avid hunter all of my life and have owned two restaurants and several catering companies.

In the Spring of 1976 on the banks of the Altamaha River near Darien, GA a new passion began that has exploded into a life, and budget, consuming ailment we all know as turkey hunting and turkey call collecting. Having published two prior family-style cookbooks, I wanted to combine my passion for cooking and turkey calls into one book that has now had a considerable amount of success since it was self-published and my web-site has been the sole outlet for it's distribution. The book is a hard cover, easel-style cookbook packed full of 600 tested recipes and dozens of helpful kitchen tips. There are 14 sections, each divided with a full color divider featuring some of the work of the top turkey call makers in the country. A unique blend of two different collections. Get yours today at www.gumboranch.com! They are $24.95 plus $5 S&H. This is my second printing of this edition.

Do you sign all of them Preston! Looks like a good addition to my wife's cook book collection.

I have, on request, personalized a good number of my books. I signed and numbered the first 300 of my First Edition but, they are all gone! I would be proud to send one your way, if you so choose. Thank you.

Thank you zips! I am glad you are using and enjoying my cookbook. Like turkey calls, cookbooks are worthless sitting on a shelf - they are made to be used!

Josh surprised me with one of these books today. It is very nice and I can't wait to try some of these great sounding recipes. I also enjoyed the history of some well known call makers. I knew little about calls till Josh and Al started building them, and now I want to know more each time I see one. Thanks bud for the cookbook and thanks Preston for the kind words.
