Bama bird
« on: April 15, 2011, 04:37:44 PM »
Been chasing this un for a few weeks. Right place right time this morning. Spurs were both broken, longest was 7/8.
I sat up about 60 yards off the property line and listened to em gobble this morning. 2 gobblers and one hen. I see the hen take off running then I here the neighbor driving out his driveway. I thought well darn busted again.
Then I hear that magic sound, PffftVrooom. I changed the positioning of my gun. BAM they fire off together at 30 yards. Can't seem em yet. Give them some soft yelps and a little cutt to let em know I was there. A few more gobbles and then I get my hat blown off from about 15 yards to my left. They are split up one on my left the other strait in front. I have no shot ay the bird to the left as he steps into the road an starts to walk away. Then I seen ole boy step in the road at 20 yards. He starts up the road toward his partner in crime. I settle in to the gun and put the cross hairs in a hole. I see his noggin enter the picture. The gun goes off. Thank GOD for turkey birds.
