the 2016 trip to the Limbhanger lodge with the gang was as great a time as always. Sharing the lodge with great friends and super time in the woods and to top it off--keeping up with the Byrne turkey dogs. We climbed a few hills and logged a few miles, broke around 6 flocks, but the birds just weren't co operating. We fought hot/dry weather even up there, but Friday brought us some rain and moisture to help the dogs scent better. One break was at a distant of 874 yards. On this trip we shared cherished times with Mike McDonald, David Williams, Gary Bunofsky, Ronnie Bolyard, myself and our host Marlin Watkins. We hunted hard for three days and finally got the deal done on a break Friday, but only one turkey fell on this trip, but the time was what counts with great friends. Saturday found us at the right time for opening day of duck season. We occupied two blinds with seven guns, and the total was one woody short of a seven man limit and had three mallards to boot. Rumor had it that the "other" blind ran out of shells....
. It was a great way to wrap up a hunt for the memory book. Here are some pics we got during the trip....We cant thank you enough Marlin and Ronnie for all you guys did for us while we were there...its always a cherished hunt
