Half strut..
« on: March 12, 2016, 07:38:54 AM »
Usually the turkeys take off running if they notice me with my camera..yesterday this gobbler allowed me to walk slowly right up to him with hens wandering less than 20 feet away..it was a very cool experience..you can see more of my photos here..takes forever to upload to photobucket..https://www.facebook.com/david.hodgkins.581/posts/10153968719332370?pnref=story

Nice!! What kind of camera do you have? I'm just starting to get into more advanced photography and can see I am in way over my head!  *lol*

I'm using a Nikon D3100..however, I'm planning to upgrade to a Nikon D7100 when I can. I think the D7100 is better suited for wildlife photography, and is sealed (weather proofed) which is a big plus if you get caught out in the rain, and has a built in auto focusing motor integral to the camera which allows use of more lenses that don't have an auto focusing motor built into the lens.  That being said, the D3100 is a good quality entry level camera. I just wish I had an auto focusing telephoto, (they do make them) I use a 70-300 lens but it is manual focus on this camera..worked good on my film camera a Nikon F5..and my eyes don't always "see" the same as the camera. Hopefully down the road I can get what I really need..quality glass!
