Son's first bird
« on: April 22, 2015, 03:16:57 PM »
After several years of trying, my boy and I finally were able to close the deal and he harvested one stud of a bird.  Ole Turkey Hill treated us right on 4/11 this year.  I have never heard so much gobbling in my life.  It was unreal and made me super proud.  He took a 16 yard shot and dropped the bird with the 20 gauge.

It had a 10 3/4" beard and spurs of 1 1/4 and 1".  Two came in and only one left.  This was one of the greatest days ever.  Ed's Double sider glass did all the work and they came in on a string!!!!  I might not be around as much, but I'm still toting the Osage calls  *lol*

Yes we could have... he'd had his first bird last year then!!!  Another hunt where expect the unexpected :-)  Ole Dcole knows where this birds was shot at as it's pretty close to where he smoked one last year  RkLu

Congrats!  He looks like a little Mike (minus the beard).

My Bloodwood double-sider from Ed is the only pot call I've used all year, and I have used it for every hunt!  That thing sounds amazing, and it seems to require less maintenance for some reason.
