Wisconsin Gobbler
« on: April 22, 2014, 11:07:32 AM »
Here's my first bird of the Spring.  Not the biggest bird, just under 22 lbs, one spur 1", the other .5" and abnormal.  10" beard.  I was after some much bigger gobblers and they just wouldn't leave their hens or I was set up on the wrong side of a swamp.

After leaving my initial set up yesterday I spotted this guy heading into some planted pines.  I got in on the opposite side and stalked him down the rows.  There's nothing like hearing the gobbles getting closer and closer followed by spitting and drumming.
