Last year I entered a drawing for proceeds benefitting a lady with cancer. The winner got a filmed/guided hunt with Sahne Smith, now of Antler Insanity. I was fortunate enough to win this hunt in MS and was nothing short of exilerating!!! I had the choice of dates to take this 2 day hunt and decided on 1-1 and 1-2-2012 and my bday was on 1-6-2012 so I knew this had to be the week for an out of state hunt. I couldnt think of a better way to bring in the New Year than with a great buck harvest and did just that! I met some wonderful people down there and gotta thank Shanes family for having me over for lunch and dinner and his friends (and now mine) for some great southern hospitality. They couldnt have made my stay any better! We had actually seen this deer earlier in the morning and he gave us the slip and just couldnt straighten him out--but took full advantage of him the 2nd time around. My shots were at 175 yards and 225 yards, both shots being within 2 inches of each other. His tines were broken off from fighting as seen on camera and trail cams. He has over 5 inches of mass throughout the entire main beam and field dressed out at 205. While we were down there, Shane also hooked me up with some hog hunts--one of them landed on my bday too! Just want to thank Jordan for the winning ticket, haha, and everyone involved that got this hunt on the way. My hunt will be aired on the new t.v. show Antler Insanity starting this June I believe.
