Everything went right this morning. I got there well before daylight, walked to my spot, and sit down by A small tree the loggers left standing on the clear cut. About 10 minutes went by before the first gobble, then I heard several different birds for the next 15 minutes...Then I heard them fly down, about 100 yards away. A very short time later,I saw 3 gobblers moving in my direction, across the clear cut. There path would take them about 50 yds away from my location. When they got to the road I was setting next to,I softly yelped 3 notes, and the first 2 gobbled and broke down and strutted. While the last one kept walking my way. When he got 35 yards I pulled the trigger...As I set there and watched the other 2 gobblers walk off,I thought of what Zumer said, and A smile came across my face...Patience Grasshopper...I didnt need much this morning...I fired at 7:30 EST What A morning!
