This boss gobbler came a quarter mile across a corn stubble field to go for a ride in my vehicle. The birds roost in timber surrounded by open fields. I tried getting on them in the morning, the last three years, but I was always busted. They would fly off and not return to that roost spot for a few days. An afternoon hunt got the job done.
26 lbs 10 1/2" beard, 1 1/8" spurs.
I would have included a photo of me with the bird but Preston acuses me of wearing camo that is not color coordinated. ROTFLMBO

No sense in ugly-ing up a perfectly grand gobbler photo! Super bird my friend! At least you don't wear a goofy boonie hat like I sometimes do. But now that Linda has made me self-conscious, I have a new hat, for photos at least. Love those light colored Iowa spurs. Glad you had a good trip. Heading to South Dakota on Wednesday morning to chase some Merriams.

Beauty Ralph! Is that the Davis County bird we spoke about? If so, that is where my lease is as well. Great hunting in those parts for sure!!!
