David is a fanatic about box elder and I told him I would make him a call a good ways back so here is your call David, a slate with a dogwood striker......

I found this box elder to be a very light wood and was concerned about the sound that it would have but I have built two and both sound exceptionally good with a slate /glass combination. Don't know how much the wood has to do with it but I recommend this to all call builders for great resonance....
