Thanks Bill

Bill, I haven't built that combo, but I think it would be a touch deeper sounding and a little more raspy than butternut/walnut. Hope that helps some.

Bill I thought I was bad on being addicted to Osage...  you might have me beat.  Might have to change the forum name to Zebrawood Roost....

You should probably find the local Zebrawood Anonymous chapter... at least that's what I was told :)

Anything under Zebra will sound good.

Have to agree with Al.  Probably pretty raspy due to the texture of the zebrawood.  Anything works with butternut though!!

NOT A BOX MAKER but have 2 on AYC and love them! Tim Clayton has two on the Calls page now in Mahogany and Red Cedar. Jeff McKamey uses it on different woods. It is Raspy but a makes a great sounding call.

Bill, I've done that combo in both one-siders and short boxes. Depending on the butternut, it is very similar to a Walnut / Butternut combo but with more rasp. It is a very good combo.
