Cutter and I had a rough opening day, it started out listening to some birds below us on the mountain side at daybreak. When they started to all fly down, Cutter and I started moving out a dirt road on top and was going to drop over the side on to a bench where they were feeding when all of a sudden Cutter was just howling . When I got to him he was just sitting ther but was in a trap. I got him out of the trap and didn't seem to be hurt at all. So we went ahead and dropped over the side and sure enough they were there but the problem was about everyone of them sailed clear across the river. We set up and called with no response, moved back across top and ran in to about fifty elk lying on a side hill, we glassed some side hills on the way back to the truck and spotted seven gobblers feeding on mulberry bushes we moved in and Cutter had them flying in all directions, I set up and waited quite awhile before I called, had one bird answer twice but never seen a thing. On the way back to the truck Cutter started acting funny , walking funny and crying I didn't know what was wrong, got him to lay down so I could check him out an found huge green brier stuck in is nutsac he sure was happy I got it out. I'm gonna rest up and hope Monday's better
