I had an order from a good customer for one of my Stepside Shortboxes and he wanted to have it decorated . I built this box from yellow poplar and the lid is cherry . I asked my good friend, Brian Aliff to paint the call with gobblers on one side and hens on the other . The lid has two super detailed gobblers tearing it up with the sun breaking in the distance. I cant say enough about Brian's amazing talent and the work he did on this call . It will be hard to let go of this one for sure but I know that the new owner will treasure this call alot .
Brian is currently selling some of his fantastic feather art and if you are looking for a "wallhanger" you should send him a message and pick something up . Maybe you can show us some pics of the works you are selling now Brian ?
Thanks for checking this one out !

It's almost a shame to cover up your boxes Bob. But then DANG.

Lot's of talent in that collaboration. Someone will be very happy.

Thanks guys. I will deliver the caller in Nashville next week and its going to be hard to let it go. Brian did a fantastic job of turning this chunk of wood into a real wallhanger. I recommend everyone of you contact him and get a call or some of his painted art . He is especially talented at painting on feathers and i know he has some on hand to sell and could probably bring something to nashville for anyone interested.

I would like to thank everyone, and I'm sure Bob does to for the kind comments. I think the call turned out great and hope the new owner feels the same. I did try to take this one over the top a little on the paint work, but it's only because the call is a real talker and I needed to milk one of those chocolate maple troughs out of Bob on a trade.
Thanks for letting me have a hand in this one Buddy.
As Bob said, I have some older feather paintings I need to move. These pieces have been hanging in the art gallery we (recently closed) for several years and I just don't have the space to store everything at home. Several more painting will be coming back from a art show that's closeing the end of this month, so the plan is to slash some prices and move older stuff.
Going to bring a few to Nashville, as well as some calls Boxes,Scratchers,Pots. Hope to get good reviews from some of you guys and maybe do some trading.
