This 1917 caller with wing bone sounded so good I had to take it for a test drive before sending it out to a customer.
I set up a few paces into a wood lot, at the end a field, where a flock had been known to take the early morning sun. Around 8:00 AM they filed in at the opposite end and just stood around. I started making the sounds turkeys do when they chase each other around trying to get up the pecking order. After a few minutes the flock started my way. The first birds came into range, however, seeing no bird where the calling came from they started to swing around to go back up the field and I took the closest bird.
