Title: Deer Grunt Variety
Post by: Ozark Custom Calls on August 29, 2009, 03:35:42 PM
Porter asked me to post the virety of grunts I offer. From left to right I will start off with the "Short-MAG". This grunt is small and is designed to use inhaling which prevents freezing when your in that blistering cold. Compact in size its a favorite for bowhunting. You can blow through the other end and get the same grunt if you prefer. It is small, but don't let the size fool you, it has good volume to it. Next is a more traditional grunt (made of Osage) with a flexable plastic tube for slight tone changes and directing the sound. Next it my "hardbody" grunt, lamated Paduak and Osage. This grunt has the wood throat to it instead of the plastic tube. The call has a strong volume if its needed and is adjustable by seperating the halves like the traditional grunt. Next is the "Hardbody Magnum". Here made of Cocobolo. This grunt is adjustable from the outside by putting pressure directly on the reed with your finger through the neoprene tubing. I would like JR Huntcamp (Jim) for testing and helping with the development of the Magnum. The Magnum should be available soon (a few tweaks left).

Hope I covered the grunts like you wanted Porter!

I am proud to say there are 3 of Richards "hardbody" grunts in the ole bowerebel family. These are some great sounding grunt/bleat calls, so much so that my quaker boy grunt and bleat calls are now retired. Here is a pic of the calls. The osage is my sons, one of the cedars is my brothers, and the other cedar is of coarse mine!! Thanks Richard, they will get a workout this season.

Man oh man... for a turkey loving fool... that ole Richard sure can build one mean Grunt call.  The short mag is a wonderful grunt in its own, the hard body one is whicked.. The magnum, well it's just a really neat design.

I walked away tonight putting an order in for a hard body... can you guess what wood? ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO
