Marlin that would have been a sight to see!!!

I wish MO would change the laws here where we could hunt with dogs in the fall!

mike:
go to work on it. it only took us two years to get dogs legalized in ohio and then it took four years to get our season extended. this was with the help of only a small group of people. i'll help you any way i can and i'm sure john fries would help. your young and could get many years of enjoyment out of turkey dogging. i saw my first poults over the weekend. caught one flying a little dirt road but could not see momma and the rest for the vegetation. then i saw a hen with at least 8 about the size of your fist. with the wettest spring on record i've been more than a little worried about any hatch at all. hopefully many of the first nest that were destroyed were done early enough to allow for a good second attempt. sooner

I still say Cutter deserves to live here in Tennessee where she will not be tormented like that ! Sooner ya should feel horrible torturing that calm demeanored pup in that manner  *lol*.
I have a great visual of you in knee deep water trying to convience her that she will like the water  ROTFLMBO.
Hope the vacation is going well and tell Myra hi and we will see ya soon.......time won't pass soon enough.

Bow season has helped me a bunch... had 15 birds less than 20 yards of me Saturday, but just couldn't get the shot I wanted and they were pretty small...  should be just right for shotgun season!

After all the trukey birds I saw running around camp, nothing will take that edge off except watching day break from my favoriate ridge top on the 29th!

You can say that again , can't wait to hunt with Cutter on the 29th. we have been out a few times but havn't seen any turkeys yet.  We went out last sat. morning, Didn't even see much turkey sign, but i can't remember a year that that many Beechnuts were hitting the ground and  no turkey sign around.  The deer were hitting them but no turkeys. As many that was around last year  they are somewhere close by.
