With all the talk of falling acorns and having my grandson all weekend, I thought I would post a picture of the acorn shooter that works great on live oak acorns and small water oak acorns.  My dad made me one like this one.  He carved it out of the end of an apple crate.  The cherry that I am using for box call lids works great.  Here is my grandsons acorn shooter he took home with him this weekend.

What youth with a slingshot has not gotten into trouble with one,  especially a little bigger one that would shoot lit cherry bombs.

I know for fact that It will scatter the heck out of coots.  Don't know why it would not work on a flock of turkey's.
