Turkey Hunting in Georgia with Zach Farmer
« on: May 13, 2010, 04:45:30 PM »
My sons and I had the opportunity to have Rev. Zach Farmer and his wife Lee come and spend a few days hunting with us in Georgia in April.  We had a tremendous time over 3 days and Zach had a great hunt killing 3 nice gobblers.  I will post the pictures in 3 separate posts because there are a lot of photos.

Zach Farmer Georgia Gobbler #1 on April 20, 2010

The first morning I dropped Zach off about 1/2 mile from a major creek about 30 minutes before first light.  He owled a few times with no response, but as light began to break, did a tree yelp and got a response from this gobble about 400 yards away.  He moved closer to him and at 7:20 a.m. killed this great bird.  The beard was 10.5 inches long, really thick.  Spurs were 1.25 inches and weighed  just over 19 pounds.

To all you young "whipper snappers" take a look at the gun! No scope, fancy chokes, just dead turkey! Man I like the older generation! Way to Rev. Zack!
