"There is not a right way to do a wrong thing." Annomous
Proverbs 12:15
"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel."
Even though we toss around the word accountability, we Christians do not truly practice or even understand how the Lord wants us to keep one another on track. We are afraid to say some tough things out of fear that we will hurt someone’s feelings, or that the hearer might become defensive or even hostile toward us. The sad truth is, those fears may be well-founded. Often, I myself have resented a friend who spoke the truth to me out of love, only to realize later that he was right in bringing these things to my attention.
The simple solution is to Love and Trust each other to the point that if someone cares enough to dare hold us to a standard that God expects, we should be grateful!
Please, if you Love someone, be gentle and help them! You may actually be appreciated for it!
