Most important day of the year is this week....
« on: August 30, 2009, 08:25:05 PM »
The start of college football. The only thing I have looked forward to more is the birth of my son. I spend seven months of the year in depression because there is no football. On top of all that I'm a Bama fan, so that just makes it worse. I can't wait to see some heads busting!

PS: If your a tennersee or Awbarn fan please don't say so, I have no reason to think less of any of you right now. ;)

I am from Arkansas and actually attended the U of ARK many years ago on a football scholarship, but I can promise you that Bama has nothing to worry about from us. We were good in the SWC, but this is the SEC. It is hard to get the top recruits to go up into the hills of northwest Arkansas.

With Mallet at QB it's a matter of time before Petrino gets some receivers there and you guys are competing for the West. Everyone is talking about Snead but Mallet has the most talent of anyone in the league throwing the ball.

Penn State is my second favorite team. I just hope Jo Pa can stay safe!

Mallet will be the real deal but he has to have a cast around him. Arkansas normally gets 2 and 3 star rated recruits. Bama, LSU, Florida, Tenn get the 4 and 5 star athletes. You have to get the horsepower to challenge every year. Houston Nutt will probably do a better job recruting at Ole Miss than he did at Ark. A lot of the top Ark recruits in recent years went out of state to play.

That true but the only one I can think of that accomplished anything is the reciever that tranferred from there to USC

At any rate, Arky has traditonally done a good job of keeping the real good ball players at home. Your right though, you guys need some recievers bad. If you do get them then I think you guys will be fine. That Dyer kid in state is a must for you guys this year. He seems like a real good back. I always liked watching Nutt coached teams. Real hard nosed football.

We lost a big lineman that went to Auburn and has started for a couple years, the center at LSU, several receivers to Tenn., fullback that went to USC but is now back at ARK. You are right, Dyer is a must for ARK recruiting. If we go 7-5 and it will be a good year for us.
